What does a website cost in Norway in 2026?

A website can cost a couple of hundred kroner a month or several hundred thousand. Here is what actually decides where you land, with numbers.

Short answer

A professional business website costs from NOK 14,900 for a landing page, from NOK 29,900 for a 5–8 page business website and from NOK 59,900 for an online shop. All prices exclude VAT.

Four price levels for a business website

Most businesses land in one of four levels. The difference is how much is made specifically for you, and how much the website has to do beyond presenting the company.

The figures below are our own starting prices for 2026. They exclude VAT, and the final price is always stated in the quote.

  • Landing page, from NOK 14,900: one page with one goal, such as a campaign or a new service.
  • Business website, from NOK 29,900: approx. 5–8 pages with SEO and tracking in place.
  • Growth website, from NOK 49,900: strategy, richer design, conversion and integrations.
  • Online shop, from NOK 59,900: products, payment, shipping and order flow.
  • Advanced or custom website, from NOK 75,000: special functionality and bespoke solutions.

What drives the price up?

The page count matters less than people think. Ten pages sharing one layout are quick to build. Five pages with a design each are not. Ask about the number of page types, not the number of pages.

Content is the second big item. If your copy and images are ready, the project moves fast. If someone has to write the copy, take the photos or shoot video, that work belongs in the budget. This is also where a website wins or loses: a professional website with weak images does not look professional.

The third is integrations. Booking, payment, CRM, accounting, inventory and membership systems have to be connected and tested. Each link is small on its own, but they stack.

  • The number of unique page types and how much of the design is bespoke
  • Copy, photography and video: who delivers, and at what quality
  • Integrations with booking, payment, CRM or other systems
  • Multiple languages
  • Moving content and redirecting from the old website
  • Requirements for speed, accessibility and SEO

Running costs after launch

A website is not paid for once and for all. The domain renews every year, the site has to live on a server, and the software underneath needs to be kept up to date. With us, hosting and maintenance cost NOK 990 a month. Ongoing changes and follow-up on top cost NOK 1,990 a month.

Both are optional. You can run the website yourself or with another provider. What matters is that someone is responsible, and that you know who.

Ask about licences too. Some platforms and add-ons carry their own monthly fees that do not appear in the agency's quote.

Site builder, template or custom?

A site builder typically costs a couple of hundred kroner a month, and you do the work yourself. It is a good choice for a new business that needs an address online and has time to learn the tool.

The limit is where the website has to bring in customers. Then speed, structure, content and visibility in Google count, and those are hard to get right without experience. Many come to us after a year or two with a site they built themselves, because it does not generate enquiries.

A custom website pays off when it has a job to do: sell, take bookings or show work in a way a template does not allow.

What the quote should state

Two quotes for the same website can differ by tens of thousands of kroner without one of them being expensive. They usually cover different things. Compare the content before you compare the price.

  • The number of pages and page types
  • Who delivers copy, images and video
  • The number of revision rounds
  • Whether basic SEO, tracking and a consent solution are included
  • What happens to the old website and its URLs
  • Who owns code, design and content once the project is finished
  • Running costs after launch

How long does it take?

A landing page can be live in one to two weeks. A business website usually takes four to eight weeks from kick-off to launch. Online shops and custom builds take longer.

What most often delays a project is not the development. It is the content and the decisions. Set aside time internally to deliver copy, approve designs and answer questions, and the schedule holds.

Key takeaways

  • Landing page from NOK 14,900, business website from NOK 29,900, online shop from NOK 59,900, excluding VAT.
  • The number of page types, the content and the integrations drive the price more than the page count.
  • Budget for running costs: domain, hosting and maintenance, from NOK 990 a month with us.
  • Copy and images are the most common reason projects run late. Agree who delivers what.
  • Ask for a quote that states what is included, what is not, and who owns the website afterwards.
