Phoenix US Cars in Sem, just outside Tønsberg, has imported and sold American cars and parts since 2003. We filmed and photographed a Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 on gravel roads through open farmland — a landscape film, a vertical version for social media and a set of product photos.

The client
A little piece of America in the middle of Vestfold.
Phoenix US Cars is based in Sem, just outside Tønsberg, and has imported and sold American cars, parts and gear since 2003. Several times a year the team travels to the US to find cars — classics like the Corvette, Camaro, Cadillac and Charger, or exactly the model and colour a customer is looking for.
The parts store holds one of the country's largest selections of used parts for American cars, alongside new wear parts, body panels and original parts for Ford, Chrysler and GM. The workshop handles servicing, restoration and engine and gearbox swaps, is an approved collision repair shop and does EU roadworthiness inspections on all vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.
The brief
One car, three formats.
The car was a blue Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 — the pickup Chevrolet builds for off-road straight from the factory. From a single shoot it had to work in a landscape film, in a vertical version for social media and as stills for ads and the website.

Watch the films
We filmed in low sunlight on gravel roads through open farmland, with a drone as the main camera. The drone follows the truck past a lone tree, hangs directly above it as the dust trails behind, pulls out into wide shots over the ploughed fields and settles into backlight against the sun. From the ground we watch the truck glide past from the side.
Towards the end a bald eagle — the national bird of the US — flies into frame and turns into the eagle head in the Phoenix logo, which lands on the tagline “A little piece of America in the middle of Vestfold”.
The vertical version opens closer on the truck: the LED headlights, hands on the steering wheel with the Chevrolet badge, and the ZR2 badges in the grille and on the dashboard. Then it lifts into the same shots from the air and ends with the eagle and the logo over the dust cloud.
