The brief

A portrait, not a commercial.

The film had to follow one person closely enough to become a portrait, with room for both the sport and what surrounds it.

That is why we have been working on the project for a long time. A portrait cannot be made in a single day of filming — it takes time to get to know someone, to be there through training and competition, and to catch the moments that cannot be planned.

A woman at the wheel of a racing powerboat is still a rare sight in the Emirates — and that is exactly what makes the story worth telling.
