The event
More than 20 years of quattro on the ice.
Audi Driving Experience is Audi's quattro course on Golsfjellet, and has been held there for more than 20 years. The driving takes place on the ice of Tisleifjorden, around 900 metres above sea level, where Icedrive prepares Norway's largest ice track every winter, with several ice and slalom courses.
The course runs over a day and a half of driving, instruction, meals and an overnight stay at Oset Høyfjellshotell. Participants drive Audi's RS models on mirror-smooth ice, and the aim is to become more confident in winter conditions — and to feel what quattro all-wheel drive actually does when the grip goes.
The brief
From the air, from the driver's seat and around the dinner table.
We covered the course with a drone and cameras on the ground. From the air we followed the cars through the corners of the ice track and caught the big picture — the RS models in line across the frozen fjord with the mountains around. On the ground we filmed the cars sliding up close, the driving from the driver's seat, the participants at the depot and an interview out on the ice.
The evening got its place too: the kitchen at Oset plating dinner, and the participants gathered around the table after a day on the ice. It's the whole of it — the driving, the place and the people — that makes the course an experience, and that is what the film had to show.
We handled filming, drone photo and video, edit and colour, and delivered a finished landscape film. We also cut a short vertical clip for social media: an Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 — the rally legend from the Group B era — sliding through the snow, shot straight down from a drone.
